- Hebron is the richest and most populated city in the West Bank. Tensions between Israeli settlers and Palestinian locals have been on the rise there since the October 7 Hamas attacks and Israel's retaliatory air strikes on Gaza. Israeli soldiers multiply patrols in the Old City of Hebron to protect some 800 Israeli settlers who occupy houses around the Cave of the Patriarchs, a sacred shrine to both Jews and Muslims. Our reporters James Andre and Julie Dungelhoeff went to meet members of both communities.

Typical outsider misinformed perspective. The "other" side are not angels. If the tables were to turn (as they did on Oct 7), they would not show the Israelis any courtesy. You have to understand, it's not an oppressor vs oppressed kind of ordeal. It's about bringing peace between two sides with one of them hellbent on terminating the other.

All I can say as a Jewish woman is that: I was in Israel back in 1979 and visited The West Bank, Hebron and many other cities in, at that time there weren't any settlers.
It was a totally different Israel.

As an American Arab woman would like to say thank you for caring. A lot of people don't understand exactly what's going on over there especially in places like Hebron.my ancestors were the mayor of Jerusalem our Nisbat is Al Khalidi. It's extremely sad what is going on over there. It wasn't like that in the 1800s from what I understand and even in the 1920s 30s. Very very sad that this is going on they knew it was going to happen at some point but for this to go on is very very sad.
The 800-year old Jewish community was slaughtered by Palestinian Arabs in the 1920s.

@@Jack-et1lv I have no idea if the footage could have been uploaded to cloud storage before it was removed by the IDF. But there is a huge body of evidence going back many years, of Israeli mistreatment of the Palestinian residents of Hebron. So though there is no obvious reason for this film crew to 'lie' about their footage being deleted, maybe they have not told the truth here, but the bigger story of the brutality of the Israelis towards the residents of Hebron is most definitely 100% true.

Recording near certain sensitive military installations or personnel in Hebron is forbidden. It’s made very clear at checkpoints. Hebron is an extremely violent and volatile Hamas hotbed. For all you know, the camera people captured a Palestinian operative working for Israel. It is impossible to draw intelligent and informed conclusions from a piece such as this.

Even if it were filmed on a phone such as an iPhone and uploaded to iCloud or similar, all the Israelis have to do is insist on that the footage is deleted not only from the Photos library, but from the deleted folder also. That would mean that it is deleted everywhere. Permanently. It seems to me that you are simply looking for excuses for the Israelis by discrediting those who filmed.
